Although expected and smoothly prepared through the media, President Trump declaration about Jerusalem capital city of Israel, represents a strong universal shock. Positive to some but enormously negative to a large majority worldwide.

Radical positions were taken by certain heads of states while others protested diplomatically. The Palestinian people in Israel in occupied lands and abroad, revolted.

While we will wait in the coming days for the consequences on the ground of such a decision, let us analyze with a cold mind the Costs of U.S. Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's Capital

Two Jewish Israeli senior analyst remind us about the status of Jerusalem since the partition of Palestine in 1947 and up till today. It is intimately linked to the Zionist establishment of the State of Israel and its attitude ever since, towards the Palestinians and the World Community.

My humble opinion is that the latest move of President Trump comes at a moment when all parties are tired and when the people and their leaders have lost their resources to react in an efficient way. Worse, the world lacks nowadays of real States Men with a vision and a subsequent medium to long term plan.

So we might be living one more episode of the most dramatic mistake ever made by the international community: not properly addressing the Zionist plan in Palestine, already before WW2 and then after it. Its consequences will continue to envenom the Middle East until the cause of the conflict ceases to be.
