In an ever-changing Middle East, destroyed by the chaotic policy of the USA and its Israeli local partner (or mastermind?) and while indigenous populations are suffering hell for the past 50 years, culminating lately with the wiping out of cities in Iraq, Syria and Yemen,
It is worth not to lose the big picture so to imagine what the future could be.
Who better than a British diplomat can analyze it? He who represents the British Empire that reshaped the Middle East by “creating” the Arabs of the 20th Century and by allowing the establishment of a “Jewish Home” a source of acute venin, lethal not only to the Middle East, but probably to the world.
H.E. Alastair Crook stresses on the particularities of the Levant that is culturally different from the Arabian Peninsula (How Syria’s Victory Reshapes Mideast, OG Review N*38). He openly accuses the Saudi Wahhabis for the latest destruction of the Levant. He foresees the victory of cultural minority diversity over monolithic islamist power. He finally predicts a defeat of western powers who “have been wrong on almost everything pertaining to Syria” and a shift towards Russia and China.
Quite a change, especially for a Europe which – by simple demography – is doomed to become Muslim by 2050.
It is high time for all of us to understand that what is developing in the Middle East is the start of a Global change in which Chile can find great interest, only if it wakes up and gets ready for it.
