Western Diplomacy has lost its war in Syria

Now in its seventh year, the war in Syria crossed many stages. At first, and following the quick downfall of Ben Ali in Tunisia and of Mubarak in Egypt, Western Diplomacy claimed a quick departure of President Assad within weeks. It failed.

Then the war raged in and around most cities, Deraa, Homs, Hama, Rakka, Aleppo, Deir Ez Zor bringing Assad’s army to its knees while Al Qaeda islamist militias, bearing multiple names, occupied increasing areas until it established its Islamic State on Syrian and Iraqi soils.

If Iran assisted militarily and economically the Assad regime, it is the Russian intervention starting September 2015 that saved Syria from a medieval Islamist regime. It gave Assad the capacity of reconquering many parts of his shattered country.

Meanwhile the Western Diplomacy was not idle using all types of fake news especially the chemical weapons and its read line that Assad supposedly crossed several times and for which retaliation was withheld, most probably due to little or no proof.

Today, after seven years of a war that simply and completely destroyed Syria, its social fabric, its infrastructure, its agriculture, its industry, the Western Diplomacy is extricating its “elite troops” that has been created and financed by its secret services of the UK, Germany, France and North America. The White Helmets, are not these good Civil Defense workers who spread all around Syrian war fronts, assisted the civilian population. Their saga is ending unveiling the real story and marking the defeat of the military defeat of Western Diplomacy.

Does that mean that the war is over? Has the latest Helsinki Trump Putin meeting, been a “mini Yalta” preparing the Peace of after Syria war? I sincerely doubt it!

Iran has still to be paid back for its billions of US$ invested in Syria and its thousands of “Martyres”. Turkey still dreams of not less than annexing Aleppo and Mossul while solving its Kurdish problem through Syria and Iraq. Last but not least, Israel, that has been the great winner and beneficiary (but for how long?) of the Syrian and Iraqi and Lebanese wars, not forgetting the slow but steady eradication of the Palestinians, has not yet finalized the setting of its borders (from Nile to Euphratus?)

So we still have sometimes to go during which the extenuated Syrian people will suffer hell while the world is watching CNN.
