In my charlas at the Diplomatic Academy of Chile since 2011, I had considered that the Arab Spring was the consequence of 100 million UNEMPLOYED young Arabs. Indeed this was true and represented the basic reason for the Arab Spring to happen, it still should have been considered as a FERTILE GROUND to a foreign intervention, a procedure that we have traditionally experienced in the Middle East .
Today thanks to the Center for Security Policy, we uncover the foreign intervention through a plan prepared under President Obama and ordered by him: the Presidential Study Directive PSD-11
It is a typical example of the strategies applied by western powers in the Middle East since ever the British and French Empires replaced the Ottoman Empire after First World War.
What do we know about PSD-11?
It became the basis of the Obama administration’s policy to help destabilize the Arab Middle East in 2011, overthrow the pro-US governments of Egypt and Tunisia, and topple the Libyan regime of Muammar Qaddafi, who had long supported terrorism, but by that point was fighting jihadist movements.
Obama directed his NSC staff to prepare PSD-11 in August, 2010, which reportedly was completed as an 18-page classified document.
“PSD-11 directly led to US engagement with the Muslim Brotherhood” and helped destabilize much of the Arab Middle East in 2011, former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Pete Hoekstra testified in 2016
Did Obama plan fail? Or is it still in process?
One thing is sure, it achieved the destruction of many Nation States of the Middle East built by the British and French Empires.
It shall be sometimes before the people of this region recover Peace and serenity.
